This is the trailer for the 1997 film adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey. I think it gives a great teaser for some of the overarching themes and ideas in the text. Enjoy!

She actually has a ton of videos for lots of literary works, check out "60 Second Recaps" on YouTube. She speaks pretty fast but her info is pretty strong. Thanks for the comment!
I like the Yugoslav connection; gives the Ancients a modern synonym, as it were.
Thanks! I always like to have modern comparisons as a student too.
The most fun to watch, but if you don't know anything about the Odyssey, you still won't know anything after seeing this, either. One needs to know the story for this to be at all educational. Leave this out of the packet; just use the other three.
I put this video last because I feel the same way--you need to have some context on The Odyssey to understand it. But because it is so short and really entertaining if you do indeed know about the text, I think that it could still be valuable, since I would think that at least some of the people who would look up Homer on Sophia would have at least some background knowledge on The Odyssey. But thank you for the feedback, I'll keep it in mind.
"Excellent packet. I love the engaging videos and content. Homer is definitely one of my favorite author's to teach."
