Do you remember what the reciprocal of a number is and what would happen if you were to multiply a number by its reciprocal? As was the case with numbers, matrices also have a reciprocal which we call inverse matrices. The major difference is that when we multiply a matrix by its inverse we do not get one, but instead get what is known as The Identity Matrix. But be warned, unlike with numbers we have to take special care that we are only working with Square Matrices when trying to find its inverse matrix.
