Loved it! Very fun. It was a new and cool way to learn.

Always love using Sophia for my college courses! This course definitely presented some challenges, but I accepted that it is one of their newer courses and just needs some kinks worked out. Some questions seemed to be worded in vague and confusing ways and some answers were confusing as well. The Sophia team was always there to help me and clear up any confusion. Thank you again Sophia!

I enjoyed the format of the course and appreciate the flexibility in doing it when I had time to do it. The amount of time to complete is good. I did think some of the questions throughout and on the final milestone were a bit tricky though and some not necessarily testing the material, and some were scenarios not covered in the material and would rely on familiarity with the Bible some may not have. I know you'd like specific examples (and nothing disrespectful intended), but I don't have enough time to go back and identify for you. The double negatives in many of the questions lend to confusion as well. All-in-all though, I appreciated the instruction and the course. Thank you.

The tutorials and set up are full of all the information you need to understand this subject. I felt the glossary could have had more topics in it. Some of the content was interesting but on the whole I think ethics can be very longwinded and boring, though very useful to society.

Hi Gordon— Congratulations on your successful course completion! The glossary includes all the key terms used throughout the course, but we appreciate your feedback about this area. Even though you didn't enjoy the subject matter, completing this course earned you valuable credits toward your degree, so you should be proud of this accomplishment!

This has been the most challenging course of the seven I've now taken through Sophia. Take notes as some of the material can become rather confusing and a bit counter-intuitive.

loved this course learned a lot

The material was well presented and the questions asked were representative of the covered material. Much better than having to go in a brick and mortar store to take lectures. Highly recommended.

It was good, had to get used to the learning format, but will definitely take another ciurse

  • Q: Does Sophia accept third-party payment for tuition, such as financial aid or military benefits?
A: Sophia courses are not eligible for most third party payment methods, and must be paid for by credit or debit card. Tuition is due at the time of course registration. Sophia offers both full and partial payment plans as part of the registration process.
  • Q: When do the courses start and how long do I have to complete a course?
A: You choose your own start date and have 60 days to complete each course. However, because the courses are self-paced, you can complete them in fewer than 60 days.
  • Q: Where do I get the textbooks for my course?
A: You do not need any textbooks for Sophia courses. All material is taught by video and text-based tutorials that are in the course room, and are included in the cost.
  • Q: How am I graded in the course?
A: Your overall score is derived from how you do on two types of assessments: Challenges, which are formative assessments, and Milestones, which are summative assessments. (Sophia’s English Composition I course also includes written assignments, called Touchstones, that also contribute to your overall score.)

Sophia courses are graded on a pass/fail basis. No letter grade is issued for a completed course.
  • Q: How do I know which courses I should take?
A: Consult with your academic adviser at your university to determine specifically which Sophia courses could fit into your program. You can download the course syllabus directly from our site to share with your school advisor.
