Music

Study of Music examines how different elements of music, such as rhythm and harmony, work together to create a symphony, pop song, or nursery rhyme and further extends the knowledge to prepare for success in all areas of life. Central to the subject of Music is music theory, notation, and instrument families, but our Fine Arts course is established to attain high level critical thinking that supports learning in all areas study. From pitch and value key signatures of a musical score, our course unveils a wide range of concepts and levels that will allow you to practice, perfect and challenge your skill set. Analyze the science behind the processes of music and techniques that ignite emotional response by arranging chords and tones that make our ears cheer, give us goose bumps, or even make us feel uncomfortable. Music pulls together concepts, theories and application that allow you to expand your skill set within multiple specializations.

The American Council on Education's College Credit Recommendation Service (ACE Credit®) has evaluated and recommended college credit for 25 of Sophia's online courses for college credit. These courses are eligible to transfer to many different colleges and universities.
