My first crazy day

Had my first day today introducing the students to Sophia, getting them all to create an account, and then we went through a Welcome tutorial I created that worked beautifully ....not flawlessly, but beautifully ;) ! I had them follow a series of steps (posted here in a Google doc earlier which has already been tweaked and evolved since posting) and had them finalize that series of events with posting on our Class Wall, which was a great idea because I got to see everyone got where they needed to be in the end. We then finished with our first practice quiz over the Welcome tutorial! To see so many kids cheer when they did well was so great. It was very interactive. One thing I love about this site is that it is very intuitive, so before you know it the students were off and running. I've already had so much fun congratulating them for today's craziness in a post on our Class Wall and posting a link (via Google url shorterner Chrome extension) to a Bill Nye video I've found concerning today's topic...the Periodic Table. I can already tell this is going to be awesome! Tomorrow is our first lecture video. I'm modeling the first in class so that they can then do the second independently for homework. Fingers crossed that they really make a good effort tomorrow night!
Finally to the point after my rambling.....is there any way to delete a student from a group? I had a few that used an email for creating an account who then promptly realized they had forgotten how to access that email for the confirmation step so they had to start over and now I have doubles. Oy! It's only 4 kids, but getting rid of those doubles would be helpful.

I'm so glad you're enjoying yourself. I'm bias, but my leave from the classroom is because I believe this tool has the ability to save teachers time and improve learning. What more could be asked for???

With regard to deletion, simply go to the members page (button on group page). When you see the list, to the right of each name is an action button. This will drop down and one action is to remove them. Simple.

Enjoy and keep us posted!
