After reading through the KST Chapter 3 on Macronutrient Digestion, trace the pathway of a cheeseburger through the entire digestive system describing both the mechanical and chemical forms of digestion, absorption, and up until elimination.  Beginning in the mouth and working your way through the GI tract, describe the specific organs, enzymes, and accessory structures that are used along the way.  Explain what major enzymes work on which macronutrients as food travels through the GI Tract.  Explain the process of absorption in the small intestine.  Remember this is just a summary of the process.  You do not have to go into as much detail as the text(Chapter 3), but you do need to mention all the major structures and chemicals found along the way.  The final resource for Week 2 from the Khan Academy also provides a nice summary of digestion and absorption that will help you summarize this detailed process.  Type up your response in a word file(.doc or .docx), .pdf file, or a .rtf file and upload it for grading.   Make sure you reference the KST chapter and the Khan academy video as well as any other resources you use.  (At least 250 words)
