Lesson Objectives: The Nile Valley

The students will locate and describe the location and geography of the Nile River (map activity)

The students will explain how geography affected the political, economic and religious structures of the civilization of Egypt. (map activity continued)

 

Lesson Summary: The students will be exploring the Nile Valley of Ancient Egypt. The students will finish their Nile Valley map from the previous day and paste it into their social studies journals. Then the students will dig deeper by comparing and contrasting  a current map view of the Nile Valley and past view of the Nile Valley. The students will watch a short video of the teacher explaining how to find a current map view of The Nile Valley using Google maps.
