APA Reference List Entry Format: Sound Sources

Music Recording:
If the album or song was recorded by someone other than the songwriter, include the phrase “Recorded by” and then list the artist in brackets. Place the recording date in parentheses followed by a period if it is different than the copyright date.
 
Songwriter’s last name, initials. (Date of copyright). Title of song in sentence case [Recorded by A. Nother]. On Title of album in sentence case [Medium of recording]. Location: Label. (Recording date).
 
Dylan, B. (1965). Masters of war [Recorded by Odetta]. On Odetta sings Dylan [CD]. New York, NY: Camden Records.
