Applying A Sequence of Transformations

Author: Graham Pardun

How to Recognize and Perform a Series of Transformations (Compressions, Translations, Reflections) on a Function

In this lesson, we'll look at a function like y = -3(x+2)^2-7, dissect it, figure out how it went from y=x^2 to that crazy mess, and then perform all of those transformations, in the proper order, to the graph of the original function, so that we end up with the graph of the crazy function!
