Circumference and Area of a Circle

The Circumference of a circle is is the distance around the circle.

Circumference of a Circle - The circumference C of any circle with radius r and diameter d is determined by the formula

          C=2πr    or     C=πd

Example:        r=7

            C=2πr

            C=2π(7)

            C=14π

            C=43.98

Area of a Circle - The area of a circle with radius is determined with the formula

                    A=πr2

Example:        r=7

              A=πr2

              A=π(72)

              A=π(49)

              A=153.94
