In this lesson, I'll show you how to calculate the area of any regular polygon (for example, a hexagon where all six sides are equal in length), by cutting it up into congruent triangles. By doing this, we'll end up deriving the formula for the area of any regular polygon, based on just its perimeter and a mysterious length called an apothem!
