Before you begin to integrate technology into the classroom, it is important to directly teach

• What it means to be a digital citizen
• The impact of a digital footprint
• The definition and impact of cyber bullying

Before you begin to integrate technology into the classroom, it is important to know your district’s acceptable use or responsible use policy

Remember whenever you are selecting content to use with your classroom, it is important that you model for your students.  Determine:

• Understand what Creative Commons Licenses allow: For help on http://creativecommons.org/choose/ is a helpful resource
• Provide accurate citations and give credit to the creator/author: Check out Purdue Online Writing Lab, www. Zotero.org, or OSLIS citation maker.  Here is a link to my OSLIS tutorial if you would like to dive deeper and learn how to use this tool.

In this presentation you will learn:

a.  Revised Bloom's Taxonomy and its connection to critical thinking in a technology integrated classroom

b.  Webb's Depth of Knowledge and its connection to critical thinking  in a technology integrated classroom

c.  Resources to use as you develop lessons incorporating Bloom's and Webb's  in a technology integrated classroom

It is important to reflect on what you've learned and how this can be incorporated into your current practices.

• Review your district's acceptable use or responsible use policy to determine what is allowable in your classroom.
• Consider the level of understanding that your students have about digital citizenship and their digital footprint.
• Design lessons to directly teach digital citizenship based upon your students' current understanding.
• Select a lesson to adapt using Webb's and Revised Bloom's Taxonomy.
• Consider how you will choose tools and begin to integrate technology to allow students to think create, critically think, collaborate and communicate.
