  1. Students will use The New York Times “Mapping America: Every City, Every Block” to analyze the population distribution and patterns in their own county and city.
  2. Students will use The New York Times “Mapping America: Every City, Every Block” to identify changes that have occurred in their county’s and city’s population distribution, patterns, etc. and identify benefits and/or problems associated with these changes.

Students will utilize online census maps to gather information regarding their county and city, which they will then analyze to determine any potential problems and/or benefits for their county and/or city.

Length of time needed:  2-3 class periods (50 minutes each)
