Central Vacuole

Author: Nathan Lampson

Plant cells have a structure known as a large central vacuole.  Central vacuoles are filled with watery fluid in order to support the cell.  Plant cells are able to increase in size by enlarging the central vacuole.  As well as containing water, the central vacuole also stores food and waste for the cell.
