Chapter 8 - Quantitative Conversions

Curriculum Description

Students do not need to convert units.   For this tutorial, students need to be able to recognize the various ways of expressing concentration.  

 

If students wish, conversions may be completed for enrichment.

 

Describe the concentrations of solutions qualitatively and quantitatively.

- describe the concentrations of solutions quantitatively as the amount of solute per unit volume.

• express concentration of solutions in g/L.

•  identify different measures of concentration.

Include:

(i) percentage by mass

(ii) ppm (parts per million)
