Beatitude project

Christiology—Beatitude project

Now that you have read, researched, and become a master of your parable, I want to move on to another famous teaching of Jesus Christ: the Beatitudes.

Steps:

  1. With the same partner you had for the parable project, read Matthew 5:1-12
  2. You need to briefly explain each Beatitude and modernize them.

                  -(5:3, 5:4, 5:5, 5:6, 5:7, 5:8, 5:9, 5:10)

  1. Each group will be assigned one of the Beatitudes.
  2. You will need to create a poster promoting the message of your Beatitude
  3. You will need to create a imove/powerpoint explaining all the Beatitudes with special attention given to your specific Beatitude. Explain how we can live these Beatitudes.

The Imovie/Powerpoint will be judged on:

  • Effectiveness of presenting your Beatitude
  • Originality and creativity
  • Attractiveness
  • A minimum of 1 minute, a max of 2. Must include all relevant information.
  • If using a powerpoint, presentation must last 1-2 minutes.

Your poster must contain:

  • Headline clearly stating the Beatitude
  • Brief summary of key points/message of the Beatitude
  • Dominant image or collection of related images (can use computer or hand create)
  • Persuasive element that grabs the viewer’s attention
  • Minimal number of words

In addition to the Imovie/Powerpoint and poster, you will turn in a 1-2 page summary about your Beatitude (in your own words) as well as the modernizing of all 8 beatitudes.

The summary should include:

  • Explain each of the Beatitudes
  • Special attention given to your specific Beatitude
  • Explain how we can live out these Beatitudes in our daily lives.
