Computing Actual Areas from a Scale Drawing - 7.1 - Lesson 19

Author: Todd Parks

What and How

I ask all of my students to clearly state WHAT the question is asking.  The two main concepts that we are learning in this lesson are scale factor and area of certain shapes.

HOW do we do this?  We find the scale factor by taking a scale dimension and use it as our numerator of our ratio, while putting it over the ACTUAL dimension which serves as our denominator.
