You will learn about cyber safety and write an informative writing piece in class. The class will create a Glogster to promote cyber safetry awareness.
Students will watch the Cyber Safety videos on Sophia at home. They will also read a google document with information on Cyber Safety, and watch a Prezi Power Point with additional information on web safety. Students will fill out a WSQ for accountability. This will also help them explain in their own words any interesting things they may have learned.
Class discussion on Cyber Safety videos and information. As a class we will create a MindMiester “Cyber Safety” web using the computer and document camera. Students will be able to see the web displayed on the board and orally say what information about Cyber Safety they would like to add to it. Students will create their own web map and include information they would like to use in their own writing. Students will then create an informative writing on Cyber Safety using that web map. While students are writing, students will take turns individually completing a quick online quiz about Cyber Safety on a computer.
Once the entire class has finished their writing, the class will create a glog together. This glog will be about cyber safety and promote awareness. It will be done through the document camera. Each table group will decide what important piece of information they would like to add to the glog about Cyber Safety. I will insert the information into the glog and this will be seen using a document camera.
