Online College Courses for Credit

Author: Nate Brown

The objective of this packet is to focus on how to use division and visually show ways for students and educators to learn how to divide.  With the ability to use the videos for demonstration, dividing will become easier and will not provide any problems with future equations.  The packet will provide information on:

  • How to divide.
  • Division Dancing
  • And the acronym D.M.S.B

Division has been known as one of the most difficult portions of mathematics to learn.  It is difficult because it involves not only division but multiplication, addition, and subtraction.  Students will have the most difficult time learning division due to the steps that have to be taught to find the answer to the problem.  As the math problems become more complex, it is beneficial to have the visual tutorials to demonstrate the steps that need to be taken.  While students are learning how to divide and perform the steps needed for success, they will have access at any time to complete their work.
