The purpose of this assignment is to familiarize you with professional dispositions and enable you to use them as a guide to your professional appearance, knowledge, deportment, character, and interactions.
Review the "Professional Dispositions of Learners" information to ensure understanding of the dispositions and a readiness to assume the criteria guidelines. Discuss and share your understanding of the Professional Dispositions of Learners with your cooperating teacher (CT) and supervising teacher (ST).
Discussion should take place during the first scheduled meeting, if possible. Reflect on the Professional Dispositions of Learners and which areas you believe to be most important.
Reflect on the 10 dispositions and order them according to their importance in becoming an effective teacher.
Write a brief supporting rationale for each selected area. Keep this for later reference. In ECH-485 you will again be asked to prioritize the 10 Professional Dispositions of Learners, then compare and contrast any changes in perspectives, beliefs, and supporting rationale between the two lists.
