Paper One: Where I Want to Go


Write a paper about a specific goal you have, detailing why you want to achieve it and steps you will take to do so.

And goal should be graduating and to become mechanical engineer


Your purpose in writing this paper is to write a paper that displays your ability to clarify and develop your ideas as well as organize your paper logically  Consider: Why do you want to achieve your goal? Is it a good goal, according to our class readings? Are you on your way, or do you need to make changes?  You will use specific ideas and details, but you are not allowed to use any outside sources or quotes.  Remember, your thesis is the backbone of your paper, and all of your examples and ideas should be related to it.


You will be writing your paper for a general audience.  You can assume that your audience is a member of this class and therefore familiar with our readings thus far this semester.


You paper must be at least three full pages in length.  Any shorter and it will incur a significant length penalty.

The text should be double-spaced, using 12 point Times New Roman font.

Set up your paper using MLA format as reviewed in class.

You paper must include at least 5 paragraphs: 1 Introduction, 3 Body Paragraphs, and One Conclusion.

Your introduction must include the following:

--A hook that is not a random quote.

--Background leading up to your thesis

--A clearly stated, arguable thesis at the end of the paragraph
