In this packet the goal is to introduce horizontal and vertical lines by relating them to simpler graphs which the student has come across before. The student is then taught how to relate linear lines to horizontal or vertical lines and what differences they represent.
The student is shown how horizontal and vertical lines are related to a linear line and why they are used to represent how two sets of data interact and are affected/unaffected by one another. Examples are given to help the student understand the importance of these lines and how they can be used to represent even the most common activities.
