Hi. My name is Ashley. And today's lesson is titled "How LMSes Can Promote Adaptive Learning in the Classroom." In today's lesson, we will discuss how learning management systems promote adaptive learning and how adaptive learning management systems can accommodate diverse learners.
How can learning management systems promote adaptive learning? This can be done in several ways. Content can be divided into individual lessons. This allows students to work on different tasks and advance to the next level once they have mastered the content.
The content should also be varied and robust. It should provide texts, graphics, multimedia presentations, animations, and interactive tools to enhance the learning. Learning management systems promote adaptive learning by having frequent formative and diagnostic assessments to determine the appropriate instruction for each individual student according to their performance level.
How can adaptive learning management systems accommodate diverse learners? Learning management systems are a great tool for students with diverse learning needs. They offer project-based, authentic learning experiences that involve real-world objectives. Learning is individualized according to the student's needs. The learning management system is packed with media such as videos and images, and also audio, that may be very beneficial for students with learning disabilities or difficulty with reading.
The learning management system also involves data collection that monitors students' academic progress. This is very helpful because as we know, the law requires that students with disabilities, their progress should be monitored very frequently. And the learning management system can ensure that teachers have the data they need to analyze. Students with disabilities also have very specific requirements and needs that need to be met according to their IEP or 504 plan. A learning management system can ensure that those goals are met
In today's lesson, we discussed how learning management systems promote adaptive learning. This can be done by dividing the content into individual lessons, providing robust and varied content, and frequent formative assessments. Learning management systems accommodate diverse learners and that they provide authentic learning, the learning is also individualized for each of the student's specific needs, and media is integrated throughout that provides extra support. It also offers data collection, which is significant in meeting IEP and 504 goals.
As we bring the lesson to a close, think about how you can incorporate learning management systems in your classroom. Analytics: getting helpful information out of an LMS
In this blog post, Michael de Raadt suggests that teachers, students, and institutions benefit from different types of analytical data from an LMS. He breaks down each type of data with an explanation of why it is useful. In addition, de Raadt provides a basic overview of how to collect that data from an LMS.

Using Learning Analytics to Predict (and Improve) Student Success
This paper includes a definition of learning analytics, how analytics are used in education, the types of analytical tools available, and how to use those tools to monitor and predict student performance. This article was written from the perspective of higher education; however, the strategies and principles apply to K-12.
