How to: LEGO Movie Maker

What is LEGO Movie Maker?

LEGO Movie Maker is an iPad application that guides users in the process to create a movie with LEGO bricks. The movie is a series of pictures that when ordered together creates a stop-motion video. The LEGO people come to life as they are moved little-by-little throughout each picture.

Instructions:

  1. Open the LEGO Movie Maker application on your iPad.
  2. Select "Make a Movie".
  3. Tap on "My Movie" to change the title and add the director(s). Press Done in the top right hand corner.
  4. Choose a background from the options on the right side. Press Done in the top right hand corner.
  5. Place the LEGO bricks in the scene of your choice and take a picture by tapping the screen of the iPad.
  6. Continue tapping the screen of the iPad as you move the LEGO bricks little-by-little to create a stop-motion movie.
  7. Watch the video below to learn tips and tricks about animation and maneuvering the LEGO bricks.
  8. You can preview your movie by pressing the play button in the top right hand corner.
  9. When you are satisfied with your pictures, press Done in the top right hand corner.
  10. On the next page, use the tools at the top of the page to add music, effects, and change the speed of the pictures.
  11. To save your production, press SAVE in the top right hand corner.

This video walks the viewer through step-by-step instructions on how to move the LEGO people and other LEGO bricks to result in the best stop-motion video possible. The creator shows different tips and tricks to help the viewer strengthen the overall quality of his or her creation.
