Instructions before you start to fold your paper cup

Before you start to fold your master piece of art, you should take in account some things.  First of all, do not rush.  If you are new folding origami figures, it is convenient to stat slowly.

Please follow this steps in order to have good results:

  • Follow the numbers in the diagram, and do not skip any step.
  • Fold the paper with accuracy, specially in the first folds of the figure.
  • Do not change the position of the paper if the instructions do not indicate to do so.  This is important to avoid mistakes.
  • Before every fold, watch carefully the diagram and watch the following picture to see how the figure will look in the following step.
  • Do not be discouraged if the figure does not come out right in the first attempt.  At the beginning this is normal, but after two or three attempts the final result will improve.

Visual steps to make the paper cup

In the following diagram you will find the graphical instructions to make your paper cup.  Start with a square-shaped piece of paper.  The dotted lines are fold marks, and the arrows indicate the direction of the folds.
