  1. Students will exemplify knowledge of the Eisenhower era, including the Federal Highway Act, and analyze its impact on the Rondo neighborhood of Saint Paul, MN.
  2. Students will be able to define and properly use terms such as Eminent Domain, Redlining, and Civil Rights.

Students will understand the impact that Federal Programs, such as the Federal Highway Act of 1956, had on the United States economy and society.  Specifically, this lesson will address the impact that the construction of I-94 had on the St. Paul Rondo community.  

Length of time needed: 1 class period (55 minutes)
