Sokikom was developed for kids in grades 1-6 in order to emphasize real-time cooperation and collaboration to engage students in developing math skills and in helping each other learn math.
Like ClassDojo, Sokikom is an education technology company that develops classroom management technology for elementary school BUT it also incorporates math learning games!
Sokikom (so-kee-kom) motivates elementary-age students in an exciting math social learning game. Developed for kids in grades 1-6, Sokikom emphasizes real-time cooperation and collaboration to engage students in developing math skills and in helping each other learn math.
Using the Sokikom Classroom Management tool is incredibly easy, so it's more likely to become a sustainable and regular routine in your classroom. It's a great way to reward and track behavior as an entire class, or monitor individual patterns. You can switch to “all” in the selection mode and quickly record that the entire class is on task. It's a great way to motivate kids; they'll be pleased when they realize that you're taking note of their positive behaviors, too.
Sokikom Classroom Management also helps parents become a part of the classroom behavior conversation. They can access their child’s behavior report at any time. This helps teachers and parents open doors to clear communication throughout the year. As students get older, they may find the tool less motivating or somewhat babyish. However, elementary students will jump on board for a chance to earn positive behavior points.
Sokikom allows teachers and students to access the application on multiple devices; computers, iPad, cell phones, etc. Teachers can uses their computer to project the classroom management screen on the board and use their iPad or cell phone to give or take points to students. This feature allows the teacher to walk around the room rather than sitting next to the computer to give/take points throughout a lesson or group work.
