At the completion of this project, students will be able to:
LEGO Movie Maker is an iPad app used to create custom stop-motion movies in order to prove students’ learning on any content area. Students can capture pictures, provide voice overs, and edit their slides to create their own stories. This tutorial gives step by step instructions on how to successfully use the LEGO Movie Maker app to complete this project.
For this particular project, students use Simple Machines to create a catapult. Simple Machines are a part of the LEGO Education kit designed to teach children how various machines work including gears, levers, wheels and axles, etc. The movie created on the LEGO Movie Maker app shows each step in the process of building a catapult. While the catapult is being created, students will document each step of their creation using LEGO Movie Maker. The end result of the project is a movie that captures step-by-step instructions on constructing a catapult.
