LEGO Movie Maker and Story Starters Project

For this project you will use the LEGO Story Starter kit to create a movie on LEGO Movie Maker.

LEGO Movie Maker is an app on the iPad that uses stop motion animation that can be used to make movies to demonstrate understanding of a topic. From capturing images to adding titles, dialogs and sounds affects LEGO Movie Maker has all the options to help students express their creativity and understanding of content. We pair LEGO Movie Maker with Lego Story Starters as a platform to create a sequence of photos to demonstrate understandings of Common Core Standards.

Directions

Use the Standard 1.L.1.1 Recognize that plants and animals need air, water, light (plants only), space, food and shelter and that these may be found in their environment.

1. Start by planning out a sequence using a Lego Story Starter kit to demonstrate understanding of the standard

2. Create the first scene of the sequence with background and a character

3. Set up the iPad to face the scene and open Lego Movie Maker then press “make a movie”

4.Create a title for your movie and type it in the box then click done in the top right corner

5.Make sure you can see your entire scene in the screen then tap the screen (Keep your hands out of the scene when taking the picture)

6.Move the objects to create the next scene and take the picture

7.Repeat this process till your sequence is complete  

8.Once you have completed the sequence you can add music and adjust the speed of your sequence

9.Then press save once you press save it will say building your lego movie and you can export it to your camera roll.
