Mannequinization - Drawing the Human Form with Structure

Mannequinization - Drawing the Human Form with Structure

Author: Jim Pappas

Students will be able to INTERPRET the human form by locating various PLANES and ANGLES.

Note: Before starting this week's assignment, make sure you review both the LANDMARK and STRUCTURE handouts.

Learn to draw the figure as a mannequin to give your drawings volume and perspective and to help invent poses from your imagination. Simplify the torso, head, neck, shoulders, arms and legs.  Using this technique will also help understand a better approach to adding value (shading) to your drawings.
