Percent of Change

Percent of change is the ratio of change is a given amount as a percent. The percent of decrease is a number lesser than the original number. The percent of increase is a number greater than the original number. To find the percent of change you have to take the new number and subtract it to the original number. Then put the change on the top ( whether it's a negative or not) and the original number on the bottom. Even if the top number is greater, DO NOT PUT IT INTO A MIXED NUMBER!!!!!!!!!! Instead put it into a improper fraction!!!! Then you can equal it to r/100. That way you can have a percentage that is easy to figure out.

F o r space e x a m p l e colon space o r i g i n a l equals 75 space n e w equals 25. space T h i s space i s space g o i n g space t o space b e space a space n e g t i v e space n u m b e r!

          25 - 75 = -50

                             -50(100) = 75r

fraction numerator negative 5000 over denominator 75 end fraction space equals space fraction numerator 75 r over denominator 75 end fraction

                                 - 66.67% = r

E x a m p l e space # 2 colon space o r i g i n a l equals space 75 space n e w equals 100. space T h i s space t i m e space a space p o s t i v e space n u m b e r factorial factorial factorial

        100 - 75 = 25

25 over 75 equals space r over 100 space space

                               25(100) = 75(r)

2500 over 75 equals fraction numerator 75 r over denominator 75 end fraction

                               33.34% = r
