Count and Compare numbers to 10,000
Students have learned how to count, read, and write numbers up to 1,000 in Grade 2. In this chapter, students will learn how to count, read, and write numbers up to 10,000. Base-ten blocks are used to develop the association between the physical representation of the number, the number symbol, and the number-word. Base-ten blocks are especially useful in helping students learn to count on by ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands.
In this video we talk about representing a number in all three forms: standard, expanded, and word.
