The mesozoic era was a period of time 65.5-251 million years ago.  During the mesozoic age reptiles dominated the earth -- large populations of dinosaurs were common.


Plants with cones became common during the mesozoic era.  Reptiles with characteristics like mammals and flowering plants (angiosperms) began to appear.  At the end of the mesozoic era, dinosaurs became extinct.
