Interpret products of whole numbers, e. g., interpret 5 x 7 as the total number of objects in 5 groups of 7 objects each. (For example, describe a context in which a total number of objects can be expressed as 5 x 7.)
This is a lesson for third grade with teaching and exercises about the basic concept of multiplication, and about the connection between multiplication and addition. Multiplication is defined as meaning that you have a certain number of groups of the same size. Then, it can be solved by repeated addition.
