The objective of this lesson is to expose students to the features of non-fiction text that they will read in social studies, language arts, and science. Knowing how to identify these texts will help students understand the reading answer comprehension questions based on the reading.

This video goes over the features of non-fiction text using a junior scholastic article. As you watch the video identify the features with Ms. Hill and Mrs. Seidel. There are 10 questions that go along with the article. Answer those questions in your IAN. Mrs. Siedel will take a completion grade for identifying the non-fiction text features and Ms. Hill will take a completion grade on answering the 10 comprehension questions.
