Osteoporosis is a disease that can be very manageable if the right measures are taken by the patient. This disease isn't always 100% preventable and cureable but the severity of the disease can be managed. Prevention is the best medicine against this disease as long as people focus on their nutrition and exercise habits. You know by now that exercise increases bone mass and proper nutrition coupled with exercise will allow a person to reach their peak bone mass and maintain it. The more dense the bones the harder it is for them to deteriorate.
If a person does get osteoporosis they will have to make certain lifestyle changes. These changes range from exercise to increasing their calcium intake. Some people take medications as well and undergo hormone replacement therapy.
