The packet begins by giving an everyday example of how proportions and percentages are related and then moves onto some examples to convince the student of the usefulness of percentages. Finally we end by going over an example where we calculate the percentage when starting from some know proportion.

Finally I provide some steps and accompanying example problems which can be used to solve percentage problems when the proportion or percentage is known.
