Perfect Paragraph Format

topic: tell what the paragraph is going to be about

claim: an opinion that will be proven to support the topic

data: facts that support the claim/ paraphrases, summaries, and direct quotations *Be sure these are cited

because: explains the data-- without saying, “this quote says…”/ can say, “this shows that…”

concluding: summarizes the paragraph/ ties to the thesis/ has a “take-away” message
