ESS1.A: The Universe and its stars patterns of the motion of the sun, moon, and stars in
the sky can be observed, described, and predicted to describe patterns that can be predicted.
Objective: All students will be able to identify the different phases of the moon.

The moon has two types of phases and they are waxing and waning moon. Each type has four phases that define the moon giving the moon a total of 8 different phases. Now, the moon doesn't actually disappear and reappear, but it relects the light given by the sun. Depending on the location of the moon depicts the phase of the moon.
