From there we are going to show you four sites that are commonly used to help research historical times and eras. The three sites are SmithsonianSource, Gilder Lehrman, and the Library of Congress.

Smithsonian Source is one place students can visit to help find primary source material. There isn't a ton of resources, but it is easy to use and put together in a user friendly manner.

Gilder Lehrman is a site that we use as teachers when developing many of our primary resource guides. Features it has that would be beneficial to your learning are era timelines, primary sources, and good overviews of historical eras.

The Library of Congress is a wonderful resource to use when looking for primary sources. The LOC can be a bit overwhelming with so much information, but this tutorial should help guide you to two places within the LOC that have information you need, delivered in a manner that is not too overwhelming.
