Students will compare and contrast 3 versions of the balcony scene from Romeo & Juliet: Original text, 1968 and 1996 movie version for homework. Watching the scene 3 times prepares them for a lesson in figurative language and a discussion of literature vs. movies. A discussion in class is held after the viewing and a writing task discussing the findings is completed.
