Make your own instructional videos with Camtasia or Doceri when you can. Or, a way to save time is to find some of your favorite instruction on YouTube or KhanAcademy and download the videos to my computer. Once I do this I can upload them into a tutorial so they are permanently there and I can remove them from my computer if my memory is limited. However, you can also simply insert a URL code which is fewer steps and quicker since it is simply a copy and paste. Both methods show the full preview in Sophia and is played on demand. (embedded content) [flash will not play on iPads]
Source: I have learned to put in the actual URL here as well in case it is a flash video that an iPad won't play
Here I simply used a downloaded image from my computer and inserted it along with this text. It uses a typical word type editor for the text.

Posting pdf's for absent students or for lost homework is one application of this tool. You can include articles for students to read, sections of the textbook, anything that can go pdf. Because of pdf, the format stays the same, no weird rearrangement of images!
The great thing about a tutorial is that there really is no limit on what you can do. Any web tool you use that has embed codes will import into the lesson as well as video files, pdf files, you name it.
But don't forget, once you make a tutorial, you can add it to a group or playlist, you can share it on facebook, even tweet out the assignment to your class or staff.
Lastly, if you're using an LMS for your district (Schoology, Edmodo, Moodle, etc.) Sophia's embed code works there to! Add your assignments where ever your students usually find the class.
ENJOY!!
