Students will be able to successfully solve a system of equations by using the elimination method.  As well as describe this method, and describe when the best time to use this method is.

Complete the First 10 problems on the worksheet that is attached

To solve a system of equations by elimination:

First Add the two equations together to eliminate one of the variables.

Secondly: Solve for the variable that remains

Thirdly: Substitute this value into one of the two equations for the variable.

Finally: Solve for the other variable

These two values will be the intersection point of these two lines, and will be the solution to this system of equations
