Grade 3 Life Sciences NGSS Standards:

1-1:  Students know that organisms have unique and diverse life cycles but all have in common birth, growth, reproduction and death.

LS 1-1 Content objective:  Students will be able to identify and describe the life cycle of a butterfly.

Language objective: By the end of the lesson students will be able to engage effectively in a range of collaborative discussions (one on one and in groups) building on others’ ideas and expressing their own clearly.

IEP Goals: The student will be given extra time to reach his or her goals in completing this assignment. The teacher will have one on one interaction with the student to check for understanding. The teacher will speak slowly to the student and allow the student more "think time" when asked questions.
