Description:

The travel industry is a wide sphere of service. Every year millions of people address the travel agencies asking for help choose place to spend their vacations.

Working in this industry enables you to discover the world, to meet new people and to see new places. It’s a wonderful opportunity to open up the world for those who want to see!  You should be able to see the world with open eyes of a child and to be able to make the others to see it like this also and to make them same interested like you are. Discovering new cultures, seeing new places is always exiting but only the work in travel industry can make these things a source of profit for you.
Working in the travel and tourism industry no doubtfully demands perfect communication skills. It’s a good opportunity to develop and demonstrate your abilities in this sphere. You should be able to present services in the best way to make people interested, to make them remember you and your high-level service to come back to you in the future.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to make business making people happy using your imagination and charm. It’s a work where business meets creativity to make the most of individual career experiences. This career choice gives you much freedom and independence.
Usually one of the important aspects of this career includes team work. If you are a good communicator and easy-going and sociable person who would join the collective and inspire it with new ideas and enthusiasm, this work can be appropriate for you.  A good working collective becomes a solid team where everyone helps the other in achieving joint goals.
This is a challenging work also. Sometime you have to work under pressure and sometimes it can seem that nobody needs your service. But these are usually up and downs of all works probably and there are some specific disadvantages one can come across choosing this career I would like to empathize on.  First of all it’s very dependent on the season. There are peaks of activity in this sphere and stagnations. On the travel season you can be overloaded with the work and in several months you can be bored without the work.
The travel and tourist industry is a field of competitive struggle. There is a great demand for tourist service which gives rise to the big quantity of proposals. New travel agencies are open every day and already existing ones widens the field of action. In the situations of a growing competition you need to possess personal charisma and communication skills in addition to high professional skills.
This kind of work can be very rewarding when the clients are happy and satisfied with your service. But unfortunately you have to be responsible for the service that other people provide, like hotel service, booking/reservation systems, airline industry and even the weather.  Dissatisfied clients always blame travel agencies in all misfortunes which happen to them even if it is not by fault of the tourist agent.
You need to have a quick reaction and to be ready to take coincident decisions in order to solve unexpected problems which so often occur in a business like this.  The dynamics of the business requires speedy reactions and taking responsibilities.
Work in this sphere is full of surprises –both pleasant and unpleasant and you need to posses tons of enthusiasm, excellent communication skills, high motivation and professional knowledge of the subject in order to succeed.
