Understadning the Internet

How does the internet work? What in the world does URL or WWW stand for? In this lesson we are going to find out!

• Students will break into 5 groups with 5 people in each group. I will let each of you know which group you are in. Group names are: Cyberpunk, Firewall, Megabyte, Router, and Spyware.
• Before meeting in your groups please get your personal iPad and then meet in the group and wait for my direction.
• Once we are all in our groups I will walk through the expectations for this lesson. Please make sure all of you are online and have open http://www.learnthenet.com/index.php
• Provided in the document below are the terms that each group will need to research. Each person is responsible for at least 2 terms/concepts that they are to research and take notes on.
• At the end of the day tomorrow each student will discuss one term they researched that was the most interesting to them.
• Group participation is key and will be part of this assignment- so help out those in your team who might need help and feel free to share your ideas with your team!
• You will have 35 min to complete your research
