Vivid Verbs

Author: Sherry Holbert

The student will replace 10 simple verbs in sentences with more interesting vivid verbs to create a more descriptive picture of the action taking place in the sentence.

Prior to the lesson, write 10 sentences. Use one of these verbs in each sentence: sat, walked, opened, hit, jumped, bent, kicked, wrote, stirred, pressed.

After viewing the video, go back to your 10 sentences. Substitute a better more vivid verb in each sentence.
