Chemistry is the study of matter. Chemistry studies things that have mass and take up space. The study of matter includes the reactions between elements and the structural properties of elements.
With chemistry we are able to understand how medications affect patients by monitoring the chemical makeup of blood. Chemistry is able to understand how pollution might affect our planet and how plants can be made into fuel. Though chemistry focuses on the tiny interactions between atoms, it is important for understanding the large systems and problems found all around us.
