Zombie Stories

Zombie Stories

Description:

Within the first week, students will individually create their zombie plan, which must include tips on finding and sustaining food, water, shelter and protection.

Within the first week, students will work collaboratively with a partner to create a slideshow with at least 5 tips for Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse.

By the second week, students will have created, within a small group setting, a rewritten work of one of the stories they have read this year and will have successfully added zombies to the plot, changing the mood, tone or theme of the work, while the work is still recognizable.

By the third week, students will have storyboarded their story using ComicLife and presented their work to the rest of the class in a gallerywalk presentation.

By the third week, students will have voted on the best zombie story and filmed that story, using cast, makeup, costuming provided by the class.

In this unit, students will create a zombie plan.  This could be a generic plan for any kind of breakdown of society, or it could be more specific to the zombie genre.  Students will then create a slideshow or video of Tips for Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse.  Students will re-write a story that we have read, adding zombies and show how zombies change the mood, tone or theme of that work.  They will storyboard that story and then vote on the best to collaborate and film as a class.
