My name is Ariane Heinz. I have been teaching Physics and other science/math subjects to middle and high school students since 2005, first at the International School of Brussels (Belgium) and currently at the International School of Boston (USA).
Amongst other subjects, I teach Physics in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. My teaching approach is to use as many hands-on and challenge activities as possible. I believe students will be more engaged and will learn better if they use their own creativity to discover and uncover new knowledge. However, summarizing the information learned is equally important, and this is where I think websites like Sophia can really be useful.
Prior to teaching, I worked in the field of environmental geophysics for a couple of small firms (USA and Belgium) and also as a meteorologist for the National Weather Service of Catalonia (Spain).
